Help Keep Trails Open in White River National Forest
Urgent! Your Comments Needed on the White River National Forest by 1/6/09

The White River National Forest recently released their Draft Travel Management Plan which is heavily biased against summer and winter motorized recreation. For example, the Forest is comprised of 2.3 million acres yet they have reduced motorized single track to only 67 miles. There are 750,000 acres of non-motorized Wilderness and another 640,000 acres of inventoried Roadless areas that are essentially non-motorized, too. ATV Routes are reduced by some 300 miles in their preferred alternative (Alternative G).

Unless people speak up in favor of preserving existing trails and roads, it is likely they will be lost forever. These closures would further concentrate recreation on remaining trails, increase impacts, reduce forest health & harm the economy not to mention how you will be allowed to recreate in the White River National Forest.

In just TWO MINUTES you can help by submitting a letter using pre-drafted comments or your own comments to the White River National Forest, voicing your concerns that existing roads & trails remain open.

Please ACT NOW. Click below to create your letter.
